For me, one of the most beautiful and interesting parts of being a therapist is recognizing that no two people pursue therapy for the same reason.
As both a counsellor and a drama therapist, I ensure a person-centered approach that creatively integrates my skills and support to best meet the needs and goals of each client.
Some questions I may invite us to consider are:
Are you aware of what your needs may be throughout your day? How are you at tending to them?
How do you feel you tolerate uncertainty and the unpredictable ups and downs of daily life?
What elements of your life may be bringing about stress? What is your lived experience of stress? Do you shut down and find yourself spending too much time scrolling? Do you procrastinate or take it out on others? How might you prefer to manage these elements of your life? What body-based awareness and regulation practices might support you in that?
What does feeling present and centered feel like for you? Are there moments you feel this more than others? How does it feel to relate to your struggles from a place of presence?
What would you identify are your values?
What is your experience of comparison to others? What is your experience of shame? How may we introduce through compassionate inquiry, a more loving relationship with how you see and treat yourself?
Together, we can creatively explore themes related but not limited to:
Habits and explorations of how you spend your time
Coping and self-regulation skills
Stress and stress management skills
Aimlessness
Existential Grief & Anxiety
Climate Anxiety
Disappointment
Resentment
Boundaries & People Pleasing
Sexual & Gender Identity
Attachment & Resulting Relational Patterns
Relationships (family, friendships, intimacy)
Avoidance
Loss
Low Mood
Lack of meaning
I believe therapy takes devotion and deep caring for our humanity. I hope to hear from you to see if my approach can suit what it is you are looking for.
